Born in Osaka but raised in Tokyo, Jazz vocalist Rico Shinkai has been touched by various types of music since she was a child. In school the strong attraction of Jazz pulled her into its world and she began performing standard songs as well as writing her own tunes. She sings those songs gracefully and with a look that hides a low yet very appealing husky voice.
Rico released her first mini album “DAYBREAK” in April 2008 and followed that up by receiving “The Most Voted For Award” for the music contest Jam Session on YouTube.
She is currently doing work as a voice trainer and performing at various live houses and events around the Tokyo area. Check her out soon!

大阪生まれ、東京育ち。幼い頃から様々な音楽と触れ合い。学生の頃からＪＡＺＺの魅力に強く惹かれ、ジャズスタンダードを中心に オリジナル曲の作詞・作曲も始める。 ビジュアルからは想像できない 低音でハスキーな声が魅力的だ。 ２００８年４月に ファーストミニアルバム「ＤＡＹＢＲＥＫ」（デイブレイク）を発売。 ２０１０年２月にジャズのコンテスト「ジャズセッション ＯＮ ＹｏｕＴｕｂｅ」で 「最多得票者賞」を獲得。 現在は、ライブの他に、ｲﾍﾞﾝﾄやパーティー。ボイストレーナーとしても 様々な分野で活躍している。
