Derek Short is a mulit-instrumentalist ( primarily 6 string bass and tenor saxophone ) and music producer from Chicago . He has traveled the world studying and performing music in a variety of genres working in places as diverse as Egypt , Tunisia , England , Holland , California , New York etc..<\/p>\n

Currently based in Tokyo , Japan, Derek has independently released a number of solo albums and produced many recordings for other artists . He is currently performing regularly around the Tokyo area<\/p>\n
